The Thin Green Line is a symbol used by those sworn to safeguard the environment and borders of the United States and to symbolize the relationship of those who perform this duty and the nation's citizens.

Each stripe on the emblem represents certain respective figures: the green center line represents the protectors of the environment and country, the top black stripe represents the public while the bottom represents the chaos that can be a part of nature and the world we live in.

The Thin Green Line Flag has become popular among National Park Rangers and the US Border Patrol, their families and supporters. As well as private groups dedicated to the preservation of the environment.
