Traditionally, the silver Sixpence, a coin minted in England over 60 years ago, is placed in the Bride's left shoe by the Father of the Bride or the Maid of Honor before she walks down the aisle, as a good luck wedding ceremony coin. Placing the coin in the bride's left shoe brings the married couple good luck and great fortune, as well as longevity, contributing to a very happy marriage. The Sixpence is no longer minted, becoming very rare as time goes on. Not only is it a symbol of prosperity, it is also a collectible keepsake the bride can display on the included card after the wedding ceremony for years to come.
