The pitcher holds the tea after brewing so as to not over steep the tea. Leaving the leaves in the water to brew causes the tea to go bitter over time and is not desirable. You can put a filter on the top of Gong dao bei and pour the tea into it from teapot, then move away the filter and pour the tea into each tea cup. Get it and enjoy it!
