Detroit Jazz City is a compilation album that shines a light on the past + present of one of America's great jazz cities while also serving as a benefit album with all proceeds from the album being donated to the Southern Michigan organization Focus: HOPE. The album, produced by Blue Note president Don Was, features tracks by Detroit musicians Donald Byrd, Joe Henderson, Elvin Jones, Kenny Cox, Sheila Jordan, Marion Hayden, James Carter, Spencer Barefield & Marcus Belgrave.
