When Keith Mars is arrested for murder, the police have weapon, motive, and opportunity. Keith's fingerprints are found all over the murder weapon, the knife; he was at the scene of the crime; and the victim had just rejected him.

Knowing that her father is innocent, Veronica enlists the help of two friends, Weevil and Mac, to find the real killer. It's not too long after that she also has a target on her back as the killer engages in a cat and mouse game to eliminate the young pursuers.
