Shikakai powder from the soap pod is used extensively to cleanse and condition hair but can also be used as a body wash which does wonders for skin prone to infections. Containing vitamins C, A, D, E and K and antioxidants which are essential for hair growth it will nourish the scalp stimulating hair follicles thereby promoting natural hair growth. Hair roots will be strengthened and hair thickened.

It is an effective natural hair conditioner that will leave hair shine soft and clean.

Shikakai works as a deep cleansing shampoo but will not strip hair of its natural oils as it maintains the natural ph balance removing dirt and extra oil from hair and also as an antidandruff shampoo that will eliminate dandruff leaving healthy scalp and hair. Although Shikakai does not lather like traditional shampoos or foam as much as Reetha, it does do a good job of cleansing without the suds that we are so used to with shampoos containing SLS.

Shikakai is also very effective in the treatment of any fungal infection or lice infestation.

Suggestions for use

Chemical free shampoo - mix shikakai and reetha into a paste and apply to hair. Rinse out.

Hair Growth Conditioner - mix shikakai with amla, reetha, bhringraj, brahmi, hibiscus, neem, aloe vera, tulsi.

Hair Shine Treatment - mix shikakai with amla, reetha, aloe vera, cassia obovata, hibiscus.

Can also be mixed into henna for a wonderful double hair shine enhancer treatment.
