Product Review
My concern as a pediatrician and a mom of children with allergies is how to help children find relief in the most natural sense. Long term use of medication does not appeal to me, but I want my kids to be able to play outside without being miserable. I did extensive research and spent two years taste testing to create a product that was kid friendly and effective. Bromelain is a protein-digesting enzyme found in pineapple and is a popular supplement in Europe for sinus discomfort. The German Commission E approved bromelain enzyme for reducing general sinus swelling. Studies have also suggested that the enzyme decreases cough related to post-nasal drainage and mucous membrane inflammation. Quercetin is a flavonoid found in fruits and vegetables. Onions, blueberries, citrus fruits, and apples are great sources of Quercetin. Flavonoids are powerful antioxidants. Quercetin can also help stabilize the cells that release histamine in the body and thereby have an anti-inflammatory and antihistamine effect. Quercetin is what gives Snifflex its bright yellow color. Vitamin C: is a natural antihistamine and works by destroying circulating histamine. Found in citrus fruits, red peppers, kiwi and rose hips, studies have shown Vitamin c can help children with multiple respiratory symptoms. N-Acetyl Cysteine: is an amino acid that when taken as a supplement is turned into cysteine and glutathione by the body. Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant and anti inflammatory. NAC helps break down mucous. Elderberry gives Snifflex its delicious taste. Used for centuries to treat colds, it also helps relieve nasal congestion and has anti inflammatory properties. As an added bonus, it has antiviral properties, too.
