This is an 1/8" clear acrylic template for making slim line/standard bow ties, comes with 2 pieces shown, cutting mat not included. Using a template like this allows you to create a custom fit bow tie for your own neck. This is a two piece set with markings designating half of the neck size for the bow tie. The template measures 2.5" (6.4 cm) high which makes a 2" (5 cm) bow tie with a 1/4" seam allowance. Bow template length is 9" (23 cm), rectangle length is 11.5" (29 cm). Longer bow ties can be made by simply extending the rectangular section. How to make a bow tie using this template: 1) Measure your neck 2) Divide by 2 3) Use the markings on the rectangular piece to mark the fabric at the appropriate length 4) Trace the templates two times, leave a little flap to reverse it after sewing 5) Cut along the lines 6) Sew the two halves together 7) Turn it inside out and sew the flap closed The actual templates are clear acrylic, the first picture has a protective backing on it for higher contrast in the pictures.
