Award Winning movie adaptation of Charles Dickens classic tale, directed by David Lean. The story of a young orphan who is transformed by a mysterious benefactor into a gentleman. He visits an eccentric old woman (Miss Havisham) who is always dressed in her wedding dress and becomes the friend of Estella, played by Jean Simmons. Later in life the orphan (played by John Mills) discovers his benefactor to be an escaped convict. A wonderful tale, superbly acted and directed. A true classic.
