This DVD will take the viewer on a scenic 60 minute Virtual Walk through the five villages that make up Italy's Cinque Terre. Filmed with a state-of-the-art High Definition Television Camera along with camera stabilization equipment, and filmed at an average speed of 3 mph, it's the perfect accessory for your treadmill, elliptical or Nordic Track. Just place it in a DVD player, step onto your treadmill or elliptical, and instantly you will be walking in five timeless, scenic Italian villages while exercising and staying fit. Your Cinque Terre Villages Walk begins in Riomaggiore, the southernmost of the five hillside villages. You descend the stone stairs and turn northward towards the village center, nestled in a narrow valley. The village center is crowded with tourists and hikers on this clear September day. After walking through Riomaggiore, you next take the steeply terraced vineyard path outside Manarola. The path curves eastward towards the main entrance to the village and on to the waterfront harbor. Next, you enter Corniglia, from a terrace overlooking the sea. After passing through the village, you again find yourself walking in more steeply terraced vineyards. After following another winding mountainous trail you enter Vernazza through a narrow alleyway. Vernazza, the fourth of the five villages, remains one of the true "fishing villages" on the Italian Riviera. Monterosso al Mare, the fifth and final section of your 60 minute virtual walk is one of the easiest sections because it's almost all downhill. The village possesses the only extensive sand beach in the Cinque Terre, and after walking completely through the village, your walk ends on the beautiful beach. Note: Several of the village centers were quite crowded with tourists and hikers while other sections of this walk were not crowded at all.
