Danny Acuff's life continues to unravel.

Besides his marriage woes continuing, Danny's detective work at the Akin Police Department has turned extremely complicated. There are complex cases that are proving impossible to solve, there's a captain above him trying to run him off, and he learns there's a prior detective (much like him) who was killed under mysterious circumstances just a few years before.

The true -- and frightening -- extent of the corruption in Akin, Tennessee is a lot to take in, even for a man of Danny's caliber. He's headed toward trouble that could cost him his life if he doesn't back down soon.

But is it already too late for Danny to run?

(Series Note: Fans of the hit TV series "Justified" should love every moment of this series, as should readers who enjoy authors James Patterson and Robert B. Parker. Each book in this series is more like an episode on TV than a stand-alone novel.)
