It’s no secret that Dale Earnhardt Jr. is one of the most popular drivers ever to don a NASCAR driver’s uniform. And according to the Nationwide Insurance commercials in which he stars, Earnhardt has a long-standing relationship with the insurance provider that even predates his career in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Nationwide returns in 2016 as the primary sponsor of Earnhardt’s No. 88 Chevrolet for 21 races. Although Nationwide Insurance and Earnhardt go back 25 years, next season marks only the second year in which the company will serve in this capacity. When the North Carolina driver hits the track in 2016, he’ll be looking to add to his already impressive resume that includes 25 wins, 140 top fives and 242 top 10s.
