The air flap opening system in some Mercedes-Benz vehicles are prone to breaking.
This problem occurs in 2005-2015 vehicles with V6 M272 and V8 M273 engines.

When the pivot lever and actuator rod break the following problems occur:
Failure of the Swirl Flap System
Reduces throttle power
Greatly reduces MPG efficiency.
