Life has not been easy. I guess it is tough for everyone, but tougher because I was an institutionalized child. I was also troubled with ADHD and I found school mundane and boring, resulting in my not doing well and obtaining a poor education. Looking back, it made life even more difficult for me when I was very young in ways that I found difficult to understand. In those days, kids suffering from ADHD were simply written off as being stupid.

I was always attracted to soldiering and besides it would also provide me with a roof over my head and three meals a day. I joined the Rhodesian Light Infantry, but soon became bored with peacetime soldiering. I then became an underage mercenary with 5 Commando in the Congo and served for eighteen months.

Returning to Rhodesia much later, I served as a Clandestine Operator in the famous Selous Scouts. I have since obtained three University Degrees and have learned to overcome adversity the hard way.

This is my story.
