Handmade in the USA with 85% organic ingredients - the maximum possible for soap bars as sodium hydroxide (NaOH, or lye) is required for soap bar production. Sodium hydroxide is on the allowed list of non-organic ingredients that can be used in making organic products, and accounts for approximately 10-15% of the ingredients (excluding water). Therefore, even though every other ingredient in this bar soap is certified organic, the soap can never have 100% organic content. In other words, this is activated charcoal bar soap is as good as it gets!
