These chiles are equal to cayenne in heat and have a slight red bell pepper flavor. When ground these chiles can be used in place of cayenne for nearly all recipes. The only difference is that while cayenne offers nothing but heat, de arbols have a clear vegetal flavor that makes them more intriguing.
