It is actually volcanic glass produced by internal crystallites formed as lava quickly cooled. It has a naturally occurred light gray snowflake-like pattern over black. I accented this necklace with Black Onyx faceted beads and antiqued-silver tone pewter beads to bring a classy appearance. It closes with a stainless steel lobster clasp.
