The Ruthe 4.6lbs (total weight) long handle axe feathers a finely polished forged head. Its high quality hardened steel edge is ground sharp to help cut through wood quickly and easily. I has a very durable hickory handle as well. The axe head is attached using 3 safety measures to make sure that the head is securely and permanently fixed to the handle. First it has a wooden wedge driven into the top of the handle, followed by 2 tapered steel collars.
