Its intelligent water system (I.W.S.) removes chlorine, lead, aluminum, and copper, while an organic additive eliminates almost all calcium carbonate to prevent scale build up. Thanks to modern RFID (Radio-frequency Identification) technology, the cartridge also communicates directly with the coffee maker to collect information about filter use and activate the appropriate mode.
