Alpha Lipoic acid is an Antioxidant. There are many uses and advantages to Alpha Lipoic Acid or ALA and these have been researched by many well known universities. Also known as thioctic acid. ALA can be broken into 2 isomers, S-LA and R-LA. R-LA absorbs 50% better than S-LA. So don't buy an Alpha Lipoic Acid that doesn't let you know how much of each isomer is used, they could be selling mostly S-LA.
