If you still see a gap between the guard and the edge of your nail, use a little liquid latex or a small piece of tape just on that spot. Take your time. Rushing a manicure (with or without using these guards) results in a poor manicure. Practice, practice, practice. Nothing is ever "perfect" on your first go. Don't just give up after a couple of tries.
