How does the item start to work when the tank is small and the water line is low?
You could lean the item to let the start water line submerged by the tank water. Then you press the switch to let the item pump water. When the water chamber is full of water, the water cycle begins to work, at this point, you could put the item straight. The item could pump water out as long as the water inlet is submerged under the surface of tank water
