Product Review
When you buy turquoise, does the listing give the name of the mine? This REAL turquoise is great for jewelry, bone, or woodworking inlay. The product is sold in exactly 0.5 ounce units. This material is considered to be medium to fine, ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters (between sieve #10 - #60). This turquoise is from the Sleeping Beauty Mine, which is located in Arizona. Commercial mining began in the early 1900's; however, the mine was recently closed in 2012, making this turquoise quite rare. The primary turquoise deposits from the Sleeping Beauty Mine are characterized as having a pure sky blue color which shows very little to no veining or webbing. This product is NOT man-made. Please be careful when buying mineral inlay since most products have a caveat in fine writing that states that this stone might be man-made (plain stone mixed with dyed resin to make the product seem authentic and is allowed to be called natural). Stone authenticity is extremely important to all artisans; therefore, we strive to validate the source of all our minerals before they are processed. As with any naturally occurring minerals, there can be some matrix or host rock mixed in with the product. Please see product images for color, approximate size, and quality.
