Originally from Chile, Viviana Valiente is an architect, artist, author, and teacher. As a child, her mother taught her to crochet. When she was a student of architecture, one of her teachers introduced her to the art of weaving. To her surprise, she discovered her true calling in this art. She has dedicated herself to the art and believes that weaving has enriched her life in unexpected ways. She feels joy in sharing her love and knowledge of weaving with students, friends, and family. She is now dedicated to simplifying the craft of weaving to make it accessible to everyone. As a mother of four young children, she sees writing about the art as a gift and a lasting legacy for them.
