All of this through the delivery of signature selection, 100% Arabica coffee beans. What makes our Special Dark "Special"? High quality Arabic coffees cannot be roasted excessively dark without sacrificing its properties and characteristic oils. However, we know that you like strong coffees with body. So with this in mind, we have developed a special formula to roast our coffee so that even though outwardly the beans do not show the dark black color that "French roast" is known for, we do reach the same intensity in taste. In technical terms, the darkest roast on the SCAA scale is Color 25. Arima's "special dark" is a Color 35 on the SCAA scale with the body and aftertaste of the darkest Arabica coffees.
