This virus was discovered decades ago in an African forest named Zika. Transmitted mainly by the Aedes mosquito, Zika has spread dramatically across the Americas. The WHO has declared Zika a public health emergency and the CDC has issued travel warnings. Each 5-to-7 inch doll is accompanied by an image of the real microbe it represents, as well as information about the microbe.
