Because he was. He knew he could get up and walk out at any time. She wouldn’t stop him, and even if she tried he knew she was no match for him physically speaking.

But despite the discomfort, and the awkwardness, and the pain, he wanted to take this. There was some small part of him that wanted to go through with it.
