Part of the Prickly Pear family, this beautiful cactus/succulent plant is also referred to as the bunny ears cactus or the polka-dot cactus. This cacti is native to Northern Mexico and parts of Southern Arizona and grows well in full sun to partial shade. Fat Plants San Diego is pleased to offer this cactus in two sizes. Available in 4 ounce and 11 ounce plastic pots with soil and a nice layer of preserved sphagnum moss. This cactus is easy to propagate, has beautiful pale yellow flowers in the late spring and can grow to be two to five feet off the ground if given the space. This little guy is hardy to 20 degrees and likes to live in a mildly acidic soil. Fertilize only in summer months with a low nitrogen fertilizer. This plant is covered with glochids which are little mounds of prickly pokes that were made to detach when anything touches them.
