When you need to bore long, deep holes into a turning project it can be difficult to do with a drill press and even more so with a hand held drill. The ideal method would be to mount a drill bit to your lathe and keep your project where it is on the lathe. In steps the lathe mountable drill chuck! Simply slide the chuck into your lathe tailstock and you basically have a horizontal drill press! Use this type of setup to bore holes in vases, large vessels, pepper mills and more. Made with heavy duty bearings, this drill chuck is designed to be used over and over. It can be used with bits with shanks up to ½" in total diameter. That includes twist bits and forstner bits. Comes with 1 key to quickly tighten or loosen the chuck. Available in MT-1 or MT-2 arbor sizes.
