The edible leaves & flowers have a flavor that is somewhere between a citrus mint basil with spicy hints of cinnamon, cloves, & cumin. Green Shiso is popular in Japanese cuisine, & has a wide variety of culinary uses. Enjoy Shiso sprouts or microgreens, or use the fresh leaves of the plant in salads, sushi, or rice & meat dishes. The edible flowers are also used in salads & as an edible garnish. Dried leaves can be used as an herb for flavoring, or made into a tea.
