Snatched from his family merely a child to fill a great responsibility that may or may not reap reward. Marcus becomes the ideal candidate to be nurtured and groomed as a disciple of David Pilcher. Everything that is missing from his home life, he finds in the Superstructure under Pilcher’s watch. His purpose is bigger than you can image. Marcus want to be a member of the team. He gains trust and follows through on every request made of him. The problem is Marcus finds a new hero in someone else. This leads Marcus down a path that leaves him torn. Better to be torn or broken than cease to exist.
