Germination Easy to grow from seed. Soak seed in warm water for 24 hours before sowing. Place seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Maintain an optimum temperature of 60-65°F (15-18°C). Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination usually takes 14-30 days, sometimes more, don't give up. Germination is greatly assisted by applying bottom heat. It can flower the first year from seed.

- Brugmansia may be grown in containers or in the garden. The overall plant has a coarse texture but the flowers are remarkably beautiful. They are exceptionally fragrant, about 12 inches long and shaped like trumpets.
- The corolla has five points that are slightly recurved. The flowers are usually white but may be yellowish; they are pendulous, hanging almost straight down. The large trumpet flowers bloom for most of the year. Container-grown plants moved indoors for the Winter may bloom during those months.
