It was dark early that time of year. An unforeseen winter storm had swept in from the west and the early sleet had turned to ice on the mountain road the Ravynne sisters were taking home from the airport. Visibility was next to none, and an anxious Charlie was hoping to find a place to pull over and wait out the storm, when oncoming headlights swept around the curve just ahead. It was a logging truck way over the centerline and headed straight for them. Desperately, Charlie fought to stay out of its way, but it was hopeless. The driver made no attempt to avoid them instead he forced them through the guardrail and over the side. He was close behind. Soaring over their heads…wheels still spinning…the logging truck landed in the creek bed far below. Charlie’s own truck flipped twice before it slid to a stop just above it. Meg was thrown from the cab in the fall and nowhere to be seen. And then Charlie found her…
