Finally a SATA to USB cable that unleashes full SATA III SSD performance! The Plugable USBC-SATA24 cable uses the same ASMedia ASM1351 chipset as our USBC-SATA-V upright SATA dock. This means you have access to USB 3.1 Gen 2 transfer speeds up to 10Gbps right in your pocket.

Performance depends on the capabilities of your computer and hard drive. For example, a SATA III SSD over USB-C with this cable will still be limited to SATA III transfer speeds.

Form Factor

Premium 6 inch (24 cm) shielded cable turns any SATA SSD or 2.5" HDD into an external hard drive. We chose this cable length after extensive testing to provide users the most flexibility without sacrificing performance. Power delivery over USB-C port means no additional power supply required for use.

Compatibility

Native compatibility with Windows, Mac, and Linux - no additional software or drivers required. Fully compatible with SATA I/II/III most 2.5" SSDs and HDDs. Supports all USB-C ports including Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 Gen 2. USB-C only, will not fit legacy type-A or type-B ports.

Not compatible with drives that require more than 5V power draw. This includes some high performance and enterprise 2.5" hard disk drives and all 3.5" hard disk drives. For these drives, we recommend the Plugable USBC-SATA-V hard drive dock instead.
