Why did we add Silymarin to our Berberine? Because Berberine has low rates of absorption
when taken orally. This is due to both being subject to P-Glycoprotein (it puts the
Berberine back into the intestines) and increasing the activity of P-Glycoprotein. So the
trick to increasing and getting much better absorption is to take with a P-Glycoprotein
inhibitor such as Silymarin. This is why our vegetarian Berberine capsules have an advantage
over other brands.
