Things aren’t always what they seem in the third and final installment of the Rogues of Rome, which finds painter, Margherita Moretti, and wealthy aristocrat, Luca Migliore, fleeing to the future to rescue a stolen painter and seek revenge on the past lover of Luca’s who stole it years ago. When Margherita takes on a disguise as a twenty-first century expert in Italian Renaissance painting, she must learn to navigate colleagues who dislike her, a translator who won’t stop talking, and a museum vault that contains a surprising revelation.

And that’s only part of the struggle. In twenty-first century New York City, doors open magically, stoves aren’t supposed to catch on fire, and people can fly higher than birds. With a confusing new set of rules, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before Margherita messes up the entire scheme.

Luca and Margherita battle increasing attraction and the heart-wrenching misunderstandings that are keeping them from surrendering everything to each other. Will they finally come to terms with their feelings for each other, or will they lose each other across the yawning expanse of time and space? In the most crucial and thrilling moment of their acquaintance, what will they be willing to sacrifice for the safety and comfort of the other? Will they have a future together?
