Product Review
- This device is perfect for turning on and off power to your Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+. It has a status LED to indicate power state and swappable button caps.
- If the Raspberry Pi remains on or does not turn off after shutdown, a connected device is backpowering your Raspberry Pi.
- If the red LED blinks or a lightning icon appears on the top right of your screen, your power supply may not be deliver adequate power*.
- This device does not pass through charging protocols such as Qualcomm's QuickCharge or Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charge and others that use the data lines for power signaling.
LoveRPi was the first vendor to offer inline power switches for the Raspberry Pi board family and we continue to deliver products exceeding industry standards.
Our inline power switches features gold-plated connectors and pins to enhance connectivity and reduce corrosion of exposed copper. Together with 20 AWG oxygen-free copper wiring, we deliver one of the most robust power switch extension cables available.
*While our products are designed to high quality standards, it will not prevent issues if you are using a power supply that is unable to maintain adequate voltage at higher current.
We recommend using this device with our certified 5V 2.5A (ASIN B01F1LVZ0G), but it will work with other power supplies like the official Raspberry Pi power supply as well.
Warning: Many vendors overrate the power supplies and emphasis should not be put on the sticker rating. MicroUSB plugs can effectively deliver at most 2.5A of current so you can ignore power supplies that rate themselves as 3A or higher. 5V header pins on the Raspberry Pi boards are not reflective of the voltage delivered at the MicroUSB connector since there is a voltage drop from the protection polyfuse on the board itself. This along with poorly designed power supplies could cause red LED blinking and lightning icon.
