A year has passed since Rose’s days in the Fae Crescent ended in fire and agony. Now she lurks in the shadow of the great city Anthari, desperately seeking a way inside walls ruled by unfriendly mages and guarded by corrupted Order knights. Rose needs inside the city before Sahdira and her monstrous knight Dain Shilayle find her. Fortunately for Rose, her path crosses with Elyse Thriadus, the elder princess of Oya’s mightiest kingdom. Nearly twenty years ago, Rose’s father saved Elyse from the haunts of Getshabal, and she owes the troll’s daughter a favor in return.

With the unwanted help of a fanatical elven assassin, they’ll attempt to unite Oya’s petty, warring factions and discover the secret to defeating an Ebon Robe. If they can’t find a way to bring Oya together, Sahdira will tear it apart and bury Rose in the ashes.
