Ocean is a new spider plant with more white in the leaves and white flowers on long stems that seem to dance in the air. Spider plants make excellent house plants or indoor plants as they are not only such easy-growing plants but have beneficial properties in cleansing the air of pollutants, especially formaldehyde and carbon monoxide. As it tolerates artificial lighting very well and has air purifying abilities, it's most ideal in office environment where electronic pollutants are emitted. Requires bright light or filtered sunlight for best growth and vibrant leaf colors. Never locate spider plants in full sun that will scorch their foliage. Remove yellow or dried leaves to keep it tidy. Fertilize sparingly as excess nutrients can retard its ability to produce more plantlets.
- SPIDER PLANT - Spider Plant or Chlorophytum comosum belongs to the plants that are considered as adaptable houseplants and are easy to care and grow. They are tough plants that tots of abuse, hard to kill and can grow by its own.
- GROWING SPIDER PLANT - In order to grow your spider plant, make sure to provide them with well-drained soil, bright but indirect sunlight and enough water. Like other plants, do not over water your spider plant as it can cause the roting of the root that may cause the death of your plant.
- TAKING CARE OF SPIDER PLANT - This plant enjoys cooler temperatures and should be fertilized three to four times per year. If you notice the occurrences of spider mites, use natural insecticides to eliminate those, simply spray it on your spider plant especially to the affected areas.
- PRUNING SPIDER PLANT - Pruning your spider plant maintains the good and attractive look of it. You can prune or trim your plant by the help of pruners. Remove discolored or dead foliage as much as needed. If you noticed overgrown leaves you should now consider the repotting of your spider plant.
