For Sony A7 II, A7R II and A7S II, Since the cameras have in-body stabilization, If it's the first time sensor cleaning, we highly recommend to do a cleaning by using high quality wet cleaning solution, instead of the sensor cleaning gel stick. If in case you see smears after cleaning, please clean the sensor asap using the high quality wet solution.
