Gorgeous Ruby Red Slippers! The perfect hydrangea for your garden without compromising a lot of space! The 'Ruby Slippers' Hydrangea is a densely packed, compact, dwarf Oakleaf Hydrangea that was introduced in 2010. Their outstanding color changes throughout the season producing long clusters of flowers 9" long initially white changing to a blush pink and then to a vibrant ruby red. The foliage has oak shaped leaves and is a lovely dark-green transforming to a mahogany red in the fall. A mature 'Ruby Slippers' grows to 3.5' in height with a spread of 5' and grows best in moist, well-drained moderately fertile, humus-rich soil in full sun or partial shade. Some afternoon shade is beneficial in hot southern regions. Hardiness Zones: 3-9. Images are of mature plants. *All orders to California will be shipped bare root in accordance with their state regulations. Tip: Potted dormant perennials can be kept in a well-lit cool/cold area (ie. Garage, shed, even in a protected area outdoors) until ready for spring planting. Do not allow them to completely dry out. In winter, plants will be shipped dormant.
