Tighten handle to snug fit - hat is ready for storage. ***Always rest hat on its crown, brim up.*** If size INCREASE is desired: Repeat above steps, but when the stretcher is inserted into the hat, twist to lengthen the stretcher and stretch the hat. If this does not stretch the hat to your liking: Using teapot or pan with lid slightly ajar, boil clean water, then reduce heat to produce a steady flow of steam. Holding the hat stretcher handle, direct steam evenly to outside of the band area. Twist handle to stretch hat to desired size while applying steam.  Allow hat to cool and dry 20-30 minutes before removing the hat stretcher. Repeat if hat shrinks until hat maintains desired size & fit."
