Phospholipid Bound Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Fatty acids are water-soluble but they cannot be transported in their free form in your blood. In order to be transported successfully into your cells, these fatty acids (EPA & DHA) must be ‘packaged’ in lipoprotein vehicles. Krill oil’s omega-3 fatty acids are attached to phospholipids. The cell membranes of your body’s cells are composed of phospholipid bilayers. This architecture makes krill oil easily absorbed and, consequently, vastly bioavailable. Studies confirm that because fish oil is bound to triglycerides which must be first broken down in the gut, krill oil is absorbed anywhere between 10-15 times better than fish oil.
Contains Phosphatidylcholine
Krill oil contains phosphatidylcholine. Phosphatidylcholine is composed partly of choline. Choline is the precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is responsible for sending nerve signals to your brain and for trimethylglycine, which aids in protecting the liver. Choline is paramount in brain development, learning, and memory – making it of particular importance for the fetal/infant brain during pregnancy and nursing.
Environmentally Sustainable and Contaminant Free
Precision Naturals’ Krill Oil is sourced in the pristine waters of the Antarctic using sustainable harvesting practices. These waters are not prone to the heavy metal contamination caused from widespread water pollution. Because krill is ecologically placed at the bottom of the food chain, it is free from the bioaccumulation of environmental toxins seen in larger marine life. Krill feed on phytoplankton, not on other contaminated fish.
