The weight of the clover seeds will contain approximately 34% coating material that contains the inoculant and water holding material for better establishment and viability of the seed. There is no difference in the seeding rates between the coated and raw seed due to the increased germination and viability of the bulk clover seeds that are coated and inoculated. Melilotus officinalis, or commonly called Yellow Sweet Clover, is considered to be very drought tolerant. It is often produced throughout the southern United States. It is considered to be a biennial, prefers full sun and will perform on nearly any soil type; however, acidic soil with a pH of less than 5.5 will not produce good results. Sweet Clover is very tolerant of frosts and cold temperatures.
