Was dissolved in water (95 above), insoluble in gasoline, kerosene, vegetable oil, benzene, toluene, dichloroethane, carbon tetrachloride, acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol, ethylene glycol and the like. Slightly soluble in DMSO. Polyvinyl alcohol is an important chemical raw materials for the manufacture of polyvinyl acetal, resistance to gasoline pipelines and vinylon synthetic fibers, fabric treatment agents, emulsifiers, paper coatings, adhesives, glues and so on.
