Potassium ferricyanide, 500g appears as bright red, lustrous crystals. Soluble in water, slightly in alcohol. Uses include production of pigments, cyanotyping, crystal growing experiments laboratory reagents, and electroplating. The compound itself has low toxicity but decomposes on strong heating to evolve highly toxic fumes.
