Following the untimely death of her husband, widower Stella must figure out a way to keep her family ranch open after finding out she is heavily in debt. Stumbling upon a group of wild horses that wandered onto her property, she enlists the help of rancher Brannon to bring these horses back to health. An ex-con, Brannon calls in a favor and enrolls the ranch in the Prep program; a program that uses prisoners as ranch hands. Meanwhile, Stella comes head to head against Meredith Parish (Sharon Stone), a wealthy woman and adamant believer in leaving wild horses alone. Meredith begins a campaign to take down the Double Diamond ranch and free the horses. Stella must battle against prejudice, greed, and injustice if she is to save the family ranch.
