Two-time Grammy Award-winning clarinetist Richard Stoltzman is known as an enchanting recitalist, chamber musician, and jazz performer, as well as a prolific recording artist. He gave the first clarinet recitals in the histories of both the Hollywood Bowl and Carnegie Hall. In 1986, Stoltzman became the first wind player to be awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Prize. More recently he was honored with the prestigious Sanford Medal by the Yale School of Music. He has performed or recorded with such jazz and pop greats as the Canadian Brass, Chick Corea, Steve Gadd, Eddie Gomez, Mel Torme, and more. To celebrate his 75th birthday which will occur in July of 2017, Sony has released for the first time ever a collection of his complete recordings for RCA Victor and Columbia/Sony made between 1974 and 2007. This set includes his two recordings for BMG Japan Lamento and plays Bach and his complete recordings with the Tashi Quartet.
