Origin

MASTER MATCHA GREEN TEA begins deep in the mountains of the Chun'an region. Our small matcha farm sits within the Qiandao National Forestry Park and is nestled among hills that have sheltered monks and green tea gardens for centuries. Master Matcha tea is grown and ground in small batches. Each batch is thoroughly tested by independent labs for PURITY and quality. Clean matcha tea is good matcha tea. We drink it every day on the farm, so we wouldn't have it any other way. 

Quality

All Master Matcha tea leaves are grown on a SINGLE FARM. This allows us to control the whole process. It also allows the farm workers to focus on quality. They know their matcha will not be mixed with tea leaves from other farms, so color and flavor become a source of pride. There is a direct incentive to produce the highest quality tea leaves possible.

Our Organic Promise

Did you know that tea isn't washed before it goes in your cup? Tea is plucked then processed and dried. This means that whatever is sprayed on tea plants in the field is going to end up in your cup when you steep it. Do some searching: non-organic teas are loaded with chemicals that are outright banned in many countries. The best way to guarantee that you are getting tea and only tea in your cup is by buying CERTIFIED ORGANIC teas.

"Organic" is a highly regulated certification stipulating that your tea is grown without synthetic pesticides, sewage sludge, or GMOs. It is one of the most thorough- and most trusted- agricultural certifications worldwide. Certification is difficult to achieve and involves on-site inspections and testing and strict record-keeping requirements. Infractions are heavily penalized.
