Unduthian society is strictly partitioned into two camps – the haves and the have-nots. In Unduth, there are the wealthy and there are the poor, better known as “scraps” by the elite.

HATARE – A young and willful woman born into the upper echelons of Unduthian society. She rebels against ancient customs that will force her into a marriage not of her choosing, but one that will increase the wealth and prestige of her family name. BYR - A young man born on the fringes of Unduthian society. All he wants is a chance to live in a world without castes, a world where a man is free to make his own name, make his own way, and make the world a better place.

Running from government soldiers and mercenaries, Hatare and Byr find themselves thrust together in a high stakes game of cat and mouse. A game that moves them into the arena of interplanetary politics, open rebellion, civil war, and a very unexpected romance – one that threatens to shatter the entire social order of their home planet.

Both long for the same thing – equality and freedom on Unduth. Their love can help unite their people and lead them to a better world.
